Your licence and devices
Your licence key
When you buy EachPayday you receive a licence key that looks like EPD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. It appears on the page you land on straight after paying, and it is emailed to you. The email is your permanent copy, so keep it somewhere you can find it again.
On your card statement the purchase appears as LINK.COM* EACHPAYDAY, and your payment receipt email comes from Link, the Stripe service that processes EachPayday purchases. Your licence key email is separate and comes from licence@eachpayday.com.au.
Entering your key
Choose Set up my budget on the welcome screen and the app asks for your key before setup begins. You can also enter it any time in Settings, on the Licence card. Exploring with sample data never needs a licence.
Once activated, the app shows who it is licensed to, in Settings and under the EachPayday logo on your dashboard. A typo in the key is caught on the spot; activation itself needs an internet connection, and after that the app runs fully offline as usual.
Seeing where your key is active
The Licence card in Settings lists every device your key is active on, marks the one you are looking at, and shows when each was activated. Devices are named by their type and browser only, for example Mac Chrome or iPhone Safari. EachPayday stores nothing more about a device than that.
Removing a device
Next to any other device in the list there is a Remove button, and the device you are on has Remove licence from this device. Removing a device frees its spot so another of your devices can activate. The removed device keeps its budget data untouched; it simply asks for a licence key again before it opens. A removed device finds out the next time it checks in online, which can take up to two weeks if it is rarely used.
If you remove a device by mistake, enter the key on it again and it picks up exactly where it left off.
If you cleared your browser data
Clearing browsing data removes both your budget and the app's record that the device was activated, so the old activation can linger in the device list as a stale entry. Two steps put everything back: on any other activated device, open Settings and remove the stale entry from the list, then on the cleared device enter your key and restore your budget with Restore from a backup file.
If the app says there is a note about your licence
If a key is disabled, the app shows a notice and explains in Settings. Your budget stays fully usable on that device and your data is untouched. If you think it is a mistake, reply to your purchase email and we will sort it out.
